Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup of sugar and cinnamon. Mix well and set aside.
- Place the butter in a 9x13-inch baking dish and melt it in the preheated oven. Once melted, remove the dish from the oven and set it aside.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining 1/2 cup of sugar, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the milk and vanilla extract, stirring until the batter is smooth and well combined.
- Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter in the baking dish. Do not stir. Spoon the peach mixture over the batter, again without stirring.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cobbler to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For the best flavor, use fresh, ripe peaches. Adjust sugar based on peach sweetness. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
